The spark was simple: a need. A longing for a space where we could feel truly free—musically, emotionally, physically. Back then, there weren’t many queer spaces in Amsterdam where house and techno were at the center, and where people could just come as they are and where the dance floor felt sacred and safe. IsBurning started as a place where music and community could come together in a way that felt pure, inclusive, and powerful. By the community, for the community.

From the early days,  12 years ago, IsBurning has kept the lineups unannounced. This is a vision that we still strongly believe in today. Even though our lineup is always a well-guarded secret, we guarantee that it’s filled with residents, familiar faces and different sounds for different tastes. The IsBurning team strives to create an equal opportunity atmosphere because we believe everyone is a headliner. We encourage our visitors to discover new artists, hear new sounds and gain new experiences where you get lost in the music rather than planning at which DJ you want to be at what time.
